    Weekly Reminders & Update

    • Solo & Ensemble - go to www.solofestival.com 
      Click on schedule, then school. If you are not participating in this district festival, you MUST play for Mr. Schnepper or Mr. Panoff by April 25th 
    • Concert Band practices May 3,10,17
    • Chantilly Day Parade - ALL students on May 12th
    • Final concert for all bands - May 20th @5pm
    • Band awards - May 29th

    A Message from the Director -

    Members of the Westfield Band Family:  

    Please see the outstanding results from this weekend's Virginia International Music Festival, that featured bands from as far away as Minnesota and International Bands from Belgium, Norway, Albania, and of course, military bands from each of the Armed Forces.

    >Jazz Band: Gold Medal, First Place Division III, Outstanding Solist--Andrew Harrington
    >Concert Band: Gold Medal, Second Place Division I
    >Symphonic Band: Gold Medal, First Place in Division II
    >Wind Symphony: Gold Medal, Outstanding Soloist--Justin Carpenter, First Place Division II
    >Marching Band: International Parade of Nations-- Gold Medal, Best Music, Best Marching

     The 4 Gold Medals earned by WHS were 4 of the 6 Gold Medals given for the entire weekend of competition.

     In addition:

    Grand Champion Jazz Band
    Grand Champion Concert Band
    Grand Champion Parade of Nations

    Thank you all for your support and all you do to make the Westfield Band go.
